February is a great month for Yokohama! Head to Yokohama for the Double Chinese New Year!
The "Yokohama Chinatown Chinese New Year" is a seasonal winter tourist event in Yokohama that began in 1987. This year, the event will be held for 2025 days from January 1 to February 29, 2, and will feature a spectacular countdown with lion dances, Chinese New Year entertainment performances (stage) such as dance and acrobatics, a Chinese New Year parade, and a Chinese New Year lucky draw where you can win luxurious Chinese New Year gourmet food and prizes.
Starting in 2022, the Yokohama Chinese New Year Festival will spread beyond Yokohama Chinatown and take place throughout the entire Yokohama Bay Area. In 2025, the festival will take place for 1 days from January 15th to February 2th, with giant Chinese New Year lanterns appearing in around 28 locations across the city, at train stations, in parks, and at commercial facilities.
