The historic luxury cruise ship Hikawa Maru is beautifully lit up and appears fantastically illuminated.
The Light Up event generally takes place after business hours, so you cannot tour the inside of the ship, but the fantastic scenery that can be enjoyed together with the night view is perfect for an evening stroll in Yokohama.

POINT

A historic cargo-passenger ship completed in 1930 that served the trans-Pacific route
During the war, she served as a special hospital ship and escaped sinking despite being struck by mines three times.
The only surviving cargo-passenger ship built before the war, designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 2016.
